As part its Indonesian Moratorium initiatives, Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) is collaborating with Basuki, a lecturer at Bogor Agricultural University, to conduct an independent study on the impact of plantation development and greenhouse gas emissions on all soil types. In this video, Basuki explains that this research is expected to provide valuable insights that guide future sustainable forestry programs. In particular, the analysis will measure greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 and CO4) and loss of organic materials in lowland forest and adjacent upland in pristine and degraded natural peat forest over the course of one year.
