Dewi B.

As the Deputy Director of Sustainability for Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), Dewi is responsible for identifying and implementing standards and global best practices that can help improve the sustainability of APP's operations in Indonesia. Dewi also provides direction, coordinates and monitors ongoing environmental and social initiatives of APP in Indonesia. To ensure that APP's environment and social initiatives are moving in the right direction, Dewi also engages with external stakeholders to get input and to provide them with information on APP's current progress.

Projects that Dewi is currently involved in are the development of the sustainability report for APP Indonesia operations based on the GRI sustainability reporting standards. She is also involved in carbon footprint assessments for APP's Indonesia mills, and a recent study with Bogor Agriculture Institute in Indonesia to assess carbon balance in peat areas.

As a practitioner in sustainability, Dewi has participated in conferences such as the European Commission Green Week conference in 2010 and was speaker during the Indonesia CSR Summit in 2010.

Prior to APP, Dewi was a project manager for the development of Eka Hospitals in Pekanbaru and Tangerang, Indonesia and was a technology consultant at Arthur D. Little in Massachusetts, USA.

She holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and received her MBA from INSEAD.
